
While it's a basic character that bashes, hacks, and slashes for the most part, Lost Ark found a way to soup this character up. It's not a stretch to say that every MMORPG has some variation of the warrior. The US version of Lost Ark allows a player to start with five base classes. Along with developer Brightsmile's biggest project comes the ability to truly direct who a player wants to become in this world, and eventually the hero can seem quite a bit different than what players started with. Where this particular game stands out is the way those characters level up and evolve. Lost Ark follows in the footsteps of titles like World of Warcraft to some degree, there are some very basic characters that users can take on. Like other games in this particular genre, combat plays a massive role, but Lost Ark has a bit of a different take on the classes that make up typical MMOs and/or ARPGs. The high fantasy game has been available in Korea, Japan, and Russia for a while now, but Amazon's version of the game will offer an English version,bringing what made the game so popular in its original regions to the United States and Europe. It'll be interesting to see how it fares in the west, especially compared to popular competitors such as Final Fantasy XIV and World of Warcraft.Amazon Games is bringing MMOARPG Lost Ark to the west for the first time since its official launch three years ago. The five players classes, Warrior, Martial Artist, Gunner, Mage, and Assassin, sport four sub-classes each, and the action overall looks more action-packed than the average MMO.


The game spans seven large continents and has both PvE and PvP elements. The multiplayer RPG will be free-to-play and centers on players combating a demonic dragon named Kazeros who returns after being previously defeated by a relic known as the Ark. Lost Ark launched in Korea in 2018 and is coming to the west thanks to Amazon Games. The idea is to have an active community of testers and influencers for the developers to interact with and absorb feedback once the closed beta rolls around. In an effort to better keep players in the loop, Smilegate also promises monthly updates and will launch a discord channel and forums in October.
